Who we are: DSAGT is a 501 C-3 non-profit organization established in 1983 that has evolved from a small support group in the basement of parent's homes, to a continuously growing organization, meeting the changing needs of individuals with Down syndrome and their families.
Who we serve: DSAGT serves northwest Ohio and southern Michigan. We serve 450 families in the area and work closely with other non-profit organizations and professionals.
What we believe: We believe that knowledge empowers. By providing families with support, inspiration and information, we help individuals with Down syndrome achieve their maximum potential. We believe in inclusion. Including individuals with Down syndrome in neighborhood schools, community activities and the business world benefits both the individual and their respective communities.
Revenue which supports the DSAGT comes from fund raising events, corporate donors, community events, in-kind donations. major gifts, charitable foundations, and memorials. We do not receive funds from membership dues. Our key fund raisers include the many families who participate in our annual events such as the Buddy Walk, Golf Outing, and Mud Volleyball.
