The Down Syndrome Association of Greater Toledo is excited to partner with ProMedica to engage individuals with Down syndrome in learning basic cooking and kitchen skills, as well as an emphasis on nutrition, in this 6 week course!

Individuals with Down syndrome will learn how to shop for and prepare delicious, healthy meals and snacks on a budget, while interacting with typical peers. 

ALL participants will also receive free groceries each week, so they can make the same meal at home!

This course is free to those who register. However, we do ask that those who sign up do their best to verify an active participation. ProMedica asks that each participant attends at least 4 of the 6 scheduled sessions. Spots in the course will be reserved for those who have not yet taken the class. Please do not register if you took the class last year. We will allow individuals from last year to return if they are interested *only if spots are still available.* 

Additional Information

*Class enrollment max: 12 individuals with Down syndrome. The first 12 registrants will be notified of their spots; additional registrants will be notified that they will be placed on the waitlist in the event a registered participant drops out. Once registered, please contact Hanna (hanna@dsagt.org) to receive all enrollment waivers that must be completed prior to the first session on January 14.

*Age group: 16 and up. Please note that we are sticking with this age group for now, with the possibility of adding in younger teens for future cooking group sessions. 

*We strongly prefer (and ask) that parents do not sit in/observe the class sessions. One of the goals is to foster independence for individuals with Down syndrome.
