Help us build a better future for the next generation
When the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Toledo began back in the early 1980's, the life expectancy for individuals with Down syndrome was only 28 years old.
Now, just a few decades later, adults with Down syndrome are living longer than ever before, with an average life expectancy of 60 years old. |
This is due in large part to the dedicated generation of parents, who advocated for their children to live at home instead of institutions, and be accepted into their neighborhood schools and communities.
It was a strong-willed and loving group of parents who first started DSAGT for their children and now almost 40 years later, we continue to impact the lives of individuals with Down syndrome and their families all across Northwest Ohio and Southern Michigan. |
Throughout our history, we've been proud to provide quality programs and services for our Down syndrome community. With the establishment of the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Toledo Endowment Fund, we can now ensure that DSAGT will continue to fulfill our mission and vision both now and for future generations to come.
