Family Resource Closet
Building Bright Futures – Helping Families Thrive From Day One
The Family Resource Closet is designed to support individuals with Down syndrome and their families by providing essential resources, including clothing, diapers, therapeutic toys, and other items that promote well-being and independence.
Closet Access
- The Family Resource Closet will be open three times a year: March 3-14/ June 2-13/ September 1- 12
- Families may schedule an appointment to shop the closet during these open times, after submitting their request to shop.
- Families can take home a predetermined amount of items, based on the age and needs of the child.
Eligibility
The Family Resource Closet is available to individuals with Down syndrome living in DSAGT’s 23 county service area. The closet is intended to serve children from birth to 4.
Items Available
Clothing: Clothing will be available from 0-12 months
Diapers: Diapers of all sizes and wipes will be available
Feeding Tools: Introductory silverware and drinking cups will be available
Safety: Baby proofing kits
Hygiene: Wash clothes, bath soap and dental care items
Educational Materials: Children’s books and sensory kits
Therapeutic Toys: Specialized toys that aid in development
Borrowing Therapeutic Toys:

- Families may borrow our therapeutic toys, for up to 3 months.
- Please return any borrowed toys at the next scheduled Closet opening or within the agreed timeframe.
- When returning toys, ensure they are clean and in good working condition for the next family to borrow.
