Little Learners
Designed specifically for students with Down syndrome in Pre-K through 3rd grade, Little Learners offers small-group instruction with peers at similar ability levels. Each month, students build foundational reading and early math skills, while also strengthening speech and fine motor development, all thoughtfully aligned with their individual IEP goals.
While students are learning and growing, parents grow too—through connection, education, and practical strategies to support learning at home and advocate effectively within the school system. Little Learners is more than a program; it’s a partnership focused on helping your whole family succeed.
IEP Support

DSAGT offers support to families navigating the IEP process by attending school meetings alongside them as a knowledgeable and compassionate partner. Whether helping families prepare, understand their rights, or feel more confident speaking up, DSAGT provides guidance every step of the way. The goal is to ensure each child receives the supports and services they need, while empowering families to be strong, informed advocates for their child’s education.

Classroom Visits

The Down Syndrome Association of Greater Toledo (DSAGT) offers engaging classroom visits to help students learn about Down syndrome in a way that is age-appropriate, positive, and inclusive. Through stories, activities, and real-life perspectives, these presentations promote understanding, celebrate differences, and encourage kindness and acceptance. Students leave with a better understanding of what it means to have Down syndrome—and how we can all build more inclusive communities together.

Outstanding Teacher Awards

Each year, DSAGT families are given the chance to nominate their child’s teacher, who they feel as done an exceptional job at promoting inclusion and acceptance in the classroom. DSAGT, then selects three teachers to celebrate and honor as our Annual Outstanding Teacher of the Years.  Award Nominations typically open in April.
