Community Engagement Grants

Grant Overview

DSAGT offers a maximum one-time per year $100 Community Engagement Grant to individuals with Down syndrome to attend a camp or recreational, therapeutic or educational program of their choice. Payments will be made out to camp or program directly, unless reimbursement is more appropriate.

Please review the grant guidelines below and complete the grant application. If you have any questions, you can email information@dsagt.org for assistance.

Grant Guidelines

  • Individuals with Down syndrome of all ages are eligible to receive DSAGT grant funds.
  • The individual with Down syndrome and their family must be members of DSAGT and live within the Northwest Ohio and Southern Michigan service-area counties to receive grant funds.
  • Siblings of individuals with Down syndrome do not qualify.
  • The camp or activity attended does not have to be located within the Greater Toledo area.
  • After activity enrollment/intended participation has been verified and payment has been made, DSAGT will notify family of payment.
  • If the timeline does not coincide with activity registration deadline, we will reimburse the family for the camp/activity IF a receipt or proof of payment is uploaded to the application.

Additional Items

  • Should parents choose to un-enroll their child in the camp or activity for which a scholarship application has been filled out, DSAGT should be alerted by emailing information@dsagt.org or calling 419-794-1493.
  • If a $100 scholarship is issued on behalf of the applying individual/family, DSAGT asks that the individual or family submit a photo (or photos) of activity participation for marketing purposes.
  • Should self-advocates, parents or caregivers wish for photos to be exempt from any website or social media marketing use, we ask that a short story of their experience be shared.
